The May Lakes Region TEA Party meeting will be Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 7 PM at the Moultonborough Library.
We’ll begin with a brief Legislative Update.
Our main program will be a video, “Border States of America” and discussion about the problems along our border with Mexico. The video explicitly shows what problems local law enforcement, border patrol, local property owners, Americans throughout the country, and even the illegal aliens themselves have to deal with. We hear snippets about the problems, but it’s difficult to appreciate the problem without hearing from those that have to deal with the problems.
In February President Trump declared a national emergency because of the problems on our border with Mexico. This allows him to re-direct already authorized funds to be used for border security. Some people dispute that there is a problem with people illegally crossing our border with Mexico. Yet even President Obama’s heads of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, and Border Patrol Chief, Mark Morgan, agree with President Trump.
Although this video was made in 2014, the problems have only gotten worse despite the few improvements that President Trump was authorized to make before he declared the national emergency which allows him now to make serious improvements.
Feedback from our last meeting indicated that we should not continue showing the Hillsdale College videos on the Federalist Papers. We believe that these provide useful information; they just don’t work well in our format. People wishing to view these valuable videos and the Q&A follow-up can find and watch them for free in the “Online Courses “ at Hillsdale.edu.
The Lakes Region TEA Party meeting begins at 7 PM at the Moultonborough Library, 4 Holland Street, Moultonborough, NH. The public is invited to listen and participate respectfully in the Q&A sessions.
