The Lakes Region TEA Party’s November meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Moultonborough Library at 7 PM. The election is over with some good and some disappointing results. It’s time to consider and plan what our TEA Party should focus on in the next year to address the interests of our members; please come prepared to discuss and decide our group’s next steps.
At the state level there are many important issues that need to be addressed, e.g., school choice, lower energy costs, voter fraud, defeating our drug epidemic, and a growing economy that enables all our citizens to succeed. Since most of the Republicans campaigned on many of these issues and since we will have a Republican Governor, Republican controlled Executive Council and Legislature, we can be hopeful that these items will get some attention.
At the national level there are also many key issues, e.g., national defense, national debt, immigration, refugees, unfunded liabilities, education, corruption, Treaties, Constitutional government, and a stagnant economy depressed by excessive taxes and regulations. Again, since many Republicans campaigned on these issues and were elected, we can be hopeful that some of these items will get some attention.
Marc Abear has talked to us about the Convention of States effort because there are some actions that we know that Congress are most unlikely to even try to fix, e.g., term limits, balanced budget, State’s ability to over-ride Federal Laws or Supreme Court decisions.
However, the party establishments, the special interests, and leftists, as we see in the streets, are not willingly going to let issues be solved if solving them will diminish their power, special treatment, and other benefits. They don’t care what the voters want, what our elected representatives promised, and certainly not what’s best for our country.
Please come prepared to talk about how you would like our TEA Party to proceed in the next year. What will keep you interested and participating? What might interest more people and get them to join us?
The Lakes Region TEA Party meeting will be held at 7 PM at the Moultonborough Library, 4 Holland Street, Moultonborough, NH. There won’t be a public announcement of this meeting as our TEA Party’s future should be determined by the people who have been participating.
I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.
